Teaching Timetable
This is the basic structure of staffing during the week. We will of course endeavour to ensure that disruptions to this timetable are kept to a minimum but there will be some unavoidable alterations when staffs are on courses or absent.
Homework Reminder
Welcome back after what was hopefully a restful break, and a Happy New Year!
Iam sure all the children can’t wait to get back to work (!), and are looking forward to starting their new topic.This term we will be covering a topic on the Rainforest,and will be looking at a lot of exciting themes here.
We are going to be continuing with the Praise-a Mania books. These are a valuable way of you seeing what your child is doing in school and they are a working document of the children’s work on that day.
Alongside this we are going to carry on with the Big Writing Day. Here your child will have to write in a particular genre that we have focused on over a number of weeks. They can also do further research at home around the topic that we will be writing about so helping them. Dates and genres are in the Literacy section.
There will be letters coming out soon regarding forthcoming trips, and I also also hope that some of you will be able to join us.
If anyone has any books or resources on the rainforest we could borrow, I’d be really grateful After half term we will be looking at tribal jewellery and designing some of our own.
Our Art will be looking at creatures of the rainforest, doing collage work and designing jewellery..

In Numeracy this term we are working on Place Value, Handling Data, Number facts and shape. Then after half term calculating, measuring and understanding shape followed by number facts, calculating, identifying relationships.

This is the timetable for homework. The length and complexity of the homework tasks will depend upon the needs of your child and the expectations that we have for them. Therefore, there will be differences in the homework that is given for the Literacy and Numeracy sets.
